Open Your Toys Cast – Episode 109: Looking for the perfect episode…

So you say you’re looking for the perfect episode? Well I mentioned it briefly in the past, but I think we do have a pretty amazing solution. Even on longer episodes like this we are done with all of the toy news by two hours. So if that is your thing, boom, listen to the second break. If you want to listen to what we got, listener questions and non-toy news, then stay for the rest. It really is a perfect way to listen if I do say so myself. It’s an ideal by-product of our ranting and you get more of a natural show as opposed to me constantly monitoring every minute.

As you can tell by now, we got another long one for you mofos. As Vern can attest to there’s not a lotta Masters and even less Joe news. What we do have is Transformers and of course, with Force Friday coming, a metric shit ton of Star Wars stuff. Target put up its answer to Amazon’s page and now with coupons from their ad or online code “FORCE” you can get $10 off $50 or $25 off $100. A new possible MP Megatron shows up and people lose their shit. What’s funny is the biggest MOTU news wasn’t even Masters and wasn’t even news. Unsurprisingly the Classics Lion-O sold out in a couple minutes. Again, as with Masters, the best Joe news wasn’t even Joe. And it was only loosely related to Joe.

Well here’s a perfect beat, I mean episode, for ya…Slick

Hey guys, another great episode keep up the great work! For the record I don’t think your episodes are too long at all. I know you have been making a concentrated effort to wrap your shows up quicker recently. I personally like the fact that you give each topic ample time which in turn makes your conversations more interesting. I also like that you have multiple perspectives from each of your hosts and that you all have various specialties. As a listener that helps me to not feel alienated when you discuss a topic I may not be that familiar with. Thank you all for the time each of you put in to help entertain us on a regular basis, it is much appreciated.

Dan – I highly doubt we called you out, although I can’t recall specifics. Maybe we did, and a fanciful round of fisticuffs is in order??

Rosic – thank you, thank you, and thank you! We try – oooooooh how we try – but alas, we are doomed to be overly chronologized each episode, even without using fake words. But it’s great to hear your feedback, as Slick screaming all the time “MAKE IT 2 HOURS OR WHERE’S MY DRINK???” can be a bit unnerving. But we fight for you!!

Not that kind of calling out, it was a question on some kind of toy obscura. Anyways, I’ll just relisten whens I get a chance.

    Greetings staff of OpenYourToys,

Wonderful job as usual. Thank you for answering upon many-many of my questions on the show. Hey it is not easy coming up with creative questions too! (yeah I’m boosting myself Haha)

The other day, I walked into my local comic shop and ran into this “Contra” action figures set by NECA. It is pretty cool to see something like this on the shelves. As you know, this is pretty much targeted at older collectors who are into retro gaming of the 80s.

I would love to see “Legendary Warrior Rygar” and “Rastan” be made into toys! I used to play these two Arcade machines a lot when I was little.

My question to you gentlemen is, what retro video game characters/series would you like to see made into an action figure? and which company of your choice should make it?

One day… I hope to see a complete line of Rastan and Rygar action figures, that would be fantastic!

P.S. I also left another question in the comment section on episode 108.

AAA – I’m gonna skip most of that, add a “thank you as always!” – and drop this nugget for you:

    Bionic Commando toys.

    Maniac Mansion figures.

Either would be pretty damn amazing.
